A)  Get happy. In one study, positive people injected with the cold virus were less likely to get sick than their less happy peers. Happier types live longer too.” —Sonja Lyubomirsky, Ph.D., author of The How of Happiness

B)  “If you want to feel full on fewer calories, stick to foods that are high in water, like fruits, vegetables and healthy proteins. Feeling full is based on volume, not calories.” —Obesity and nutrition expert William Dietz, M.D., Ph.D.

I have personally tried this and it really works.  It  has  helped me loose those nagging last pregnancy pounds and I must say, if you stick to this little trick along with eating right, you will maintain your target weight.

C)  Every night before going to sleep, lie on your back and hang your head and shoulders off the bed for up to two minutes. This opens up your chest, increasing blood supply to your lungs and heart, and can help prevent bad posture from hours of hunching over a desk at work.” —Ob-gyn Christiane Northrup, M.D., author of Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom

D)  Aim for 800 to 1,000 IUs of vitamin D a day from a D3 pill. It’s often hard to get enough from sunlight in winter—and mounting evidence shows D is not only important for bones, but may also help prevent cancer and heart disease.” —Harvard University professor JoAnn E. Manson, M.D

E) There is no cure for Herpes Simplex Virus.  If you have a cold sore, chances are that you may be carrying the herpes virus type 1 with you.

F) One of the main reasons men loose their  hair is due to high testosterone levels.  Estrogen is protective.  This is why women don’t loose their hair as much as men do.

G) It takes 3 muscles to close the mouth and one to keep it open.  I like to talk, so keeping my mouth shut is a workout for me:)

H) If you look at the mirror and feel fat one day and then feel normal the next, realize that your weight is based on your emotions, so go easy on yourself.  There have been many times where I am conscious of my body image (I am human after all 🙂 ) but I give it a couple of days and usually the feeling goes away.  If it does not….then go and buy yourself the sexiest pair of shoes you have laid your eyes on and I PROMISE, you will go back to feeling your fab self again.

About Heels Health and Happiness

A little about myself: I was born and raised in Canada. Coming from a family with 4 siblings (total) it was hard to convince my parents to give me enough money to experiment with fashion. You see...I come from a family that puts a LOT of emphasis on Academics and fashion was something that was almost looked down upon....so I did what most kids do, I went the academic route secretly envying fashion from afar. What I hope to achieve in this blog is to experiment with fashion and all things creative. Be it interior decorating, landscape designing, gardening, art and my first love fashion. I invite you all to join me on this journey of fashion and creativity and self discovery. I will make mistakes and fashion blunders but a wise man once said "The best part of the journey is the journey itself not so much the destination"
